The Vision

In developing the Whakatane Town Vision Plan the Steering Group sought to come up with a Plan that is consistent with the community outcomes such as; a clean protected environment; environmentally responsible development and a prosperous economy among others.

The Plan identifies themes and principles which will guide decision making about how the town centre should develop in the future. These themes and principle promote the unique and distinct character of our town which include our natural environment, heritage, connections between the town, river and the community.
